Esko's defense proved to be too much for the Barnum boys Friday night, February 15, as the Eskomos led 32-22 at the half, and built their lead to 63-46 at the final buzzer. The Barnum boys were held to just 7 baskets in the first half, and only 6 in the second half, though they did hit on 17 of 21 free throws shot for the game. Barnum was led by Brandon Newman's 15 points, a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line, though he didn't make a basket the second half. Danny Warpula scored 12 for the Bombers and Zac Carlson added 10. Sam Anderson put in 3 buckets for 6 points, while battling foul trouble, and Nick Jelinek hit a 3-pointer. Esko's Kory Deadrick led the game with 36 points, hitting 11 buckets inside the arc and 3 three-pointers. Teammate Casey Staniger contributed 14 Eskomos' points, and Nate Johnson added 11. Point guard Marc Peterson added two free throws to the Esko scoring. The Eskomos, who usually rely on outside shooting turned to their inside game to carry them when the 3-point show wasn't clicking, hitting just 4 three-pointers for the game.
