The Cloquet Boys Basketball team, as the #4 seed in the section, defeated the #1 seed Hermantown 69-68 in double overtime. Trailing by 3 at the end of the second half, Dillon Johnson hit a leaning, off balance three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime. Hermantown's Kole Zuidmulder hit a buzzer beater rebound at the end of the first overtime, off a deflected shot of Zach Goplin, by Cloquet's Zach Gerlach, to force the second overtime. Down 66-65 with around 11 seconds left, the Lumberjacks' Marquez Evans used his impressive speed to get down the court and draw a double team, leaving Adam Laine open for a quick pass and game winning bucket with just 3 seconds left on the second overtime clock.

Cloquet was led by Laine's 25 points and 16 rebounds on 12 of 16 shooting, and Dillon Johnson's 23 points and 7 rebounds. Zach Gerlach spurred Cloquet to a first half lead, and finished the game with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kevin Folman led Hermantown with 21 points, and Spencer Johnson scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds, 5 on the offensive end. Zuidmulder also had 11 rebounds for Hermantown.
