The Lumberjacks defeated Duluth Denfeld 4-2, January 19, at the Northwoods Credit Union Arena. Defenld's Levi Talarico's first period goal and CEC's Ryan Holte's second period goal made the score 1-1 after two periods. The 'Jacks gained a 5 minute powerplay on a Denfeld boarding major, scoring twice on the powerplay, first by Westin Michaud, the second by Westin Michaud. The momentum carried to a Karson Kuhlman goal to close out the 'Jacks scoring. The Hunters' Alex Thompson scored with 16 seconds left to cut the final score to 4-2. Both goaltenders, Zach Thompson for Denfeld and John Scheuer for the Jacks were credit with 25 saves each.
