The Lumberjack boys soccer team defeated Hermantown 4-2 at Bromberg Field, September 6, 2012. Logan Liimatainen gave the 'Jacks a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, managing to put a ball past a challenging goalkeeper in the box. Logan Manderfeld gave them a 2-0 lead just 21 seconds into the second half. Hermantown's Gunnar Kuberra cut the lead to 2-1 in the 55th minute, but John Carr answered that goal just 3 minutes later put give CEC a 3-1 lead. Grant Sega brought Hermantown closer in the 65th minute, scoring to make it a 3-2 game. Lumberjack Westin Michaud sealed the game with his goal just before the 74th minute, moving up to striker and taking a ball alone down the side to beat the keeper.
