The Cloquet girls celebrated Senior Night with a 2-1 win vs the Northern Stars, January 24, 2013 at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. The Northern Stars took a 1-0 lead on a Sarah Lyle (from Christina Enright) goal at 11:54 of the second period. Mackenzie Roy (from Kailey Buhr and Cassandra Inman) continued her hot goal scoring streak, tying the game at 1, at 15:44 of the second. The score remained tied until Carley Esse went end to end, on a 5 on 3 Lumberjack powerplay, to beat Stars' goaltender Megan Hansen with 43 seconds left in regulation. In the battle of top area goaltenders, the Stars' Hansen stopped 36 of 38 Lumberjacks shots, while Alyssa Acheson stopped 16 of 17 in her final regular season home outing, for the win.
