The CEC Girls hockey team got 2 third period goals, from Carley Esse and Mackenzie Roy, to tie and overtake the Duluth Northern Stars 201 at Amsoil Arena, during a 'Pink the Rink' game, January 5, 2013. The Stars got a quick goal, 1:07 into the game when Alexia Klaas tipped a Sarah Lyle shot past Lumberjacks goaltender Alyssa Acheson. Carley Esse's game tying goal came as she skated the puck in from the blue line to put a wrist shot up over the glove hand of goaltender Megan Hansen. Roy's game winning goal was scored as she found a rebound and loose puck after a scrum in front of Hansen's net. Acheson stopped 26 of 27 Northern Stars shots, while Hansen stopped 42 of 44 Lumberjack shots in the game.
