The Lumberjacks and Eskomos put on a great Section 7A championship soccer battle at Public Schools Stadium in Duluth, October 18, 2012. Kayla Baker (19th minute) scored a first half goal for Cloquet, and Kailee Kiminski (68th minute) scored a second half goal for Esko-Carlton, then the teams went scoreless through two 10-minute overtimes. The Lumberjacks scored 4 times in the Penalty Kick shootout to win the match. Kenzie Rathe stopped 3 Esko-Carlton shots, while Kristi Konietzko, Carley Esse, Gracie Sinisalo and Emily Rikkola all scored for the 'Jacks in the PK's. Kadee Karkkainen scored the lone PK goal for the Eskomos.
