The Esko Eskomos girls basketball team opened their 2012-13 season by taking on the #1 team in the state, and USA Today's #16 team in the country, Hopkins, November 29, 2012. Hopkin's ball pressure defense kept Esko off balance, leading to a 67-44 win by the Royals. Savanna Trapp's double-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks led the Eskomos. Hopkins features 3 division 1 signees, in Nia Coffey (Northwestern), Erin O'Toole (North Dakota), and Mikaala Shackelford (Illinois), as well as Taylor Anderson, who is currently unsigned but listed on ESPN's girls basketball recruiting page.
