A Kadee Karkkainen goal, in the first sudden death overtime, lifted the Esko-Carlton Eskomos to a 2-1 7A semi-final win at Hermantown, October 16, 2012. Elle Emanuel scored the first Eskomo goal, putting back the rebound from a Hillary Anderson penalty kick. Goaltender DeAhna Kulas made a huge save in the Hermantown possession before Karkkainen’s goal, leaping high to deflect a shot up over the crossbar. The lone Hermantown goal was also scored via a ‘penalty kick, from a hand ball in the penalty area.
