On a second period goal by Patrick Moore, the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks were 90 seconds from a trip to the state tournament, when Duluth East's Meirs Moore's fired a shot through a screen to tie the Section 7AA Final at Amsoil Arena. Just 26 seconds into overtime, Trevor Olson ended the Thunderhawks tourney hopes, and sent his Greyhounds to St. Paul as the 7AA representative instead. Jake Randolph had two assits for east, and Moore assited on Olson's game winner. Dom DeGuiseppi all but those 2 of the 29 Greyhound shots taking the loss, while JoJo Jeanetta stopped 23 of 24 Thunderhawk shots he faced.
