The Central/Denfeld and Hermantown boys hockey teams put on a show at Heritage Center, December 23, 2010. In one of the best hockey games of the still young 2010-11 hockey season, Hermantown's Jared thomas stole the puck in front of the Cen/Den net and beat Zach Thompson for the game winning goal with 1:03 left in overtime. Hermantown got the scoring started, at 8:09 of the first period, on a goal by Garrett Skrbich. With 4:43 left in the first period, Cen/Den tied the game at 1, when Tyler Kaspari beat Hermantown goaltender Connor Lucas. The Trojans' Ben Wrazidlo scored the only goal of the 2nd period, and they held that lead until 16:22 of the third period when Hermantown's Chris Benson tied the game. Hermantown killed off a 5 on 3 Duluth powerplay that extended into overtime, gaining momentum that eventually led to Thomas' game winner.
