The Northern Stars defeated the Mirage 2-1 in the opener of the Perkin's Frenzy at Amsoil Arena, January 3, 2011. Ailee Norton gave the 'Stars a 1-0 lead, that was answered by PHM's Emma Stauber. Alexia Klaas scored the game winner for the 'Stars, jumping on a loose puck in front of a cluttered Mirage net for the winner. Megan Hansen stopped 32 of 33 shots for the win, while Anja Morris stopped 20 of 22 shots in the loss.
