The Thunder opened their 2012 season with a 34-7 win vs Minnesota-State Fergus Falls at Bromberg Field in Cloquet. Quarterback Cody Anderson threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns, 60 yards of those and both touchdowns to Andre Sims. James Griffin had 16 carries for 70 yards, and scored twice himself. Nick Hendrichs lead the team with 16 tackles, while Romont Thompson was credited with 11 tackles for the Thunder defense. Khari Howard returned a 4th quarter interception for a touchdown to close out the victory.
