The UMD Bulldogs' football team shut out Bemidji State University 30-0 on the 2012 UMD Homecoming game at Malosky Stadium, October 20, 2012. Chase Vogler threw for 3 touchdown passes, to 3 different players, and Brian Lucas ran for a 2 yard touchdown to lead UMD. Justin Fowlkes (64 yard) caught the score of the game, just 2:38 into the game. Ben Helmer caught a 4 yard touchdown pass with 2:21 left in the first quarter. Zach Zweifel caught a 9 yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. The UMD defense chipped in safety to start the third quarter, the ONLY scoring in the whole second half.
