The Huskies got a 1-0 lead in the first period, with a Kalle Kossila goal at 5:26. Tony Cameranesi's 5th goal of the season (from Mike Seidel and Austin Farley) tied the game for UMD, at 16:20 of the second period. Cameranesi set up the go ahead, eventual game winning goal by Wade Bergman (from Cameranesi and Andy Welinski) at 3:55 of the third period, on the powerplay. Cameranesi got the puck deep in the slot and after Huskies' goaltender Ryan Faragher left a big rebound, Bergman jumped on it for his first goal of the season.
Aaron Crandall picked up his second win of the season, stopping 27 of 28 shots faced, while Faragher stopped 27 of 29 UMD shots in the loss. UMD was 1 of 4 on the powerplay, but unsuccessful on a long 5 on 3 powerplay late in the third period with a chance to add an insurance goal.
On Saturday, the 'Dogs fell to St. Cloud 5-1, with St. Cloud State scoring 4 straight goals, 2 in the first period and 2 in the second to take a 4-0 lead. Mike Seidel (Andy Welinski and Austin Farley) finally got UMD on the board, midway through the second period, the only UMD goal of the game. Nic Dowd scored two goals and added an assist for the Huskies. Drew LeBlanc of Hermantown, picked up his 10th assist of the season for St. Cloud State, for his only point on the weekend. St. Cloud State goaltender Faragher stopped 32 of 23 UMD shots, while Aaron Crandall stopped 17 of 22 Huskies shots on the Bulldog net.
