UMD trailed by as many as twelve points, with 11:32 left in the second half. A late rally fell short, cutting the lead to 66-65 for the Marauders, but that was as close as UMD got in the second half. A Mary timeout at 66-65 and a 6 point run built their lead back to 72-65, and UMD only got one basket in the final 1:12 of the game.
Shelly Stemper led UMD with 20 points, on 5-16 shooting, but 10-11 from the free throw line. Courtney Doucette added 14 points on 5-13 shooting, but 4-8 on 3-point shots. Katrina Newman added 10 points, on 4-12 shooting for the Dogs.
