The 2014 Duluth Huskies season is 16 games old, with a current record of 4-12, 8 games behind the first place Willmar Stingers.

Infielder Alex Greene, from West Florida, playing shortstop and second base for the Huskies, is hitting .350 in 15 games, with 21 hits in 60 at bats.  The Huskies have already hit seven home runs on the season with catcher (and outfielder) Michael Tinsley hitting two of them in just his 5th game with the team vs. Eau Claire Express on Tuesday night.  Vinny Rodriguez, outfielder from Montevallo also has two homers on the season.

The Huskies have gotten good starting pitching, with Alex Winkelman sporting a 1-1 record with just a 1.54 ERA in 11.2 innings.  Dylan Barrow, a Yankees draft pick, has allowed 4 earned runs (6 total) in 3 starts, striking out 21 batters in 14.1 innings.

Reliever Chris Myjak, from Des Moines Area CC, hasn’t allowed an earned run in 5 pitching appearances, picked up a win in relief in a home game vs. the Green Bay Bullfogs.  Myjak has thrown 9.2 innings of relief with 5 strikeouts and 8 hits allowed.  He also picked up a hit Tuesday night in 6 at bats as the designated hitter for the Huskies.

The one issue plaguing this year’s Huskies team is fielding errors, after the June 11th game, the team has committed 41 errors in the 16 games played.  The 41 errors have led to 26 unearned runs and longer relief outings for the pitching staff, while the team ERA is 4.27.
