Wilderness shut-out Magicians Thursday (photos!)

The Minnesota Wilderness, behind a 27 save performance from Brock Kautz and a puck controlling powerplay, shut out the Minnesota Magicians 3-0 at Northwoods Credit Union Arena October 16, 2014.  3 second period goals carried the team, with Tobias Bjorklund PP at 8:08 (from Jack Forbort), Brett Heikkila at 8:42 (Niklas Lehtimaki), and Darian Romanko PP at 18:14 (Bjorklund, Tyler Cline) scoring the goals.

Vaughan Ahrens stopped 38 of 41 shots for the Magicians in the loss, while Kautz, in his 5th year in the NAHL, earned his 5th career shutout.  On the season, Kautz has a 4-1 record, allowing 12 goals, and a 2.55 Goals Against with a .897 saves percentage.

Heikkila, a Northern Michigan commit, has 2 goals and 1 assist on the season, and 9 goals 9 assists in his 2 year (60 game) career so far.

Bjorklund, from Filipstad, Sweden has 4 goals and 5 assists for the Wildneress in 10 games played.

Romanko has 2 goals in 6 games on the season.
