Cloquet Relays Return

On Friday night the annual Cloquet Relays track meet took place, for the FIRST time on the new MCCU turf/facility improvements. The relays include a throwers-race and conclude the night with a runners & coaches relay race.

This year I only shot high jump and all of the running, and still ended up posting 173 photos on the Viewthroughmylens.net Facebook page!

The Cloquet Relays feature a steeplechase race, with straw bales used in place of not having water pits at the Cloquet track.

During relay races, some teams use items OTHER than the traditional track & field baton to make the exchanges:

Superior High School’s Nolan Bird carries a cell phone attached to a muscle roller device as a baton during the 4×800 relay at the Cloquet Relays on Friday
A banana for a baton… only at the Cloquet Relays
Moose Lake / Willow River’s Kaden Robbins, who signed with St. Johns to run track, runs the 100-meter race at the Cloquet Relays on Friday
