The Carlton Daze and Chamber of Commerce, saw a blistering pace, despite the heat and Canadian wildfire smoke with 3 top 10 overall finishers in the men’s race, Esko legend (and now Delano Cross Country coach) beat his previous (2023) Carlton Daze record by a second, finishing at 15:42, with Cloquet grade Sam Buytaert finishing 2nd, with the 3rd fastest time of 16:36, followed by Cromwell-Wright, ISD #95‘s Phoenix Anderson with the 7th fastest time of 17:02.
Emaleigh Olesiak won her 3rd straight Carlton Daze 5K, this year with a new all-time mark of 18:55.. she set the previous mark of 19:27 2 years ago, and the (now) 3rd fastest time winning last year’s race at 19:41. South Ridge grad Gracelynn Otis finished second with a time of 22:07 and MLWR runner Bella McCall finished third at 22:34
Carlton Daze 5K is one of the hottest races of the summer it seems.. with a 6 pm start instead of a morning race.. I imagine the Park Point race is similar if the wind isn’t cooling that race down.
